Beyond Institutions, Towards Dialogue

Daseinanalysis – also known as Daseinsanalysis – has often been presented within the framework of institutes, trainings, and formal programs. There, it appears as a therapeutic approach, a curriculum, or a path toward certification — a structured way of learning to accompany another human being in the opening of their existence.

And yet, its deeper origin is elsewhere.

Daseinanalysis did not begin as a method, nor does it belong to any institution. It emerges wherever the question of human existence is taken seriously — in the encounter, in thought, and in the willingness to remain with what shows itself.

This space is an attempt to hold that question open.

I welcome You to approach Daseinanalysis as a living practice — and, perhaps more fundamentally, as a way of being. It is a certain attentiveness, a readiness to step back, to allow what appears to show itself in its own way, rather than immediately shaping it into explanation. It moves between therapy and philosophy, between clinical work and reflection, without reducing one to the other.

What unfolds here takes different forms: attempts to articulate what Daseinanalysis is — and perhaps what it is not — for those encountering it from different places; gatherings such as DaDa (Discussions about Daseinanalysis) and Daseinflix, where films become occasions for shared reflection.

I seek dialogue with the broader worlds of existential therapies, phenomenology, psychiatry, philosophy, and culture.

“Beyond institutions” does not mean against them. Institutes preserve, teach, and transmit. But they also define limits. To move beyond them is to enter a space where thinking is no longer secured by structure, but must remain open, responsive, and grounded in the encounter itself.

This site also gathers my writings and conversations, which I wish to share openly — not as final positions, but as traces of my path.

I would like to extend a quiet, perhaps even humble invitation — to enter this space, to think along, and to remain, for a moment, with the question:

What is the essence of Daseinanalysis?
